Tonight we will take Charlotte for her latest weigh in to see how she did for the week. The suspense is killing me and I have even tried to put her on our analog scales about a hundred times and squinted and tried to read the little dial to no avail. Each time she kicks her legs though she gains a kilo so it´s like "wow! she´s six kilos, no five, no four no wait arrrrrgh!" Stupid of me to even torture myself trying. The good news is that the milk is flowing well and I have returned to having painful let-down, something which had gone away since a few weeks. I am happy about that...
mucho leche!I´m still holding her non-stop and that seems to have worked well. I am no longer a person you see but a human drinking fountain available on a twenty four hour basis. Just push the button and there you go. Yes I am a tired drinking fountain!
Hopefully my milk will have increased enough that I won´t have to stay a drinking fountain forever and I can just be a little faucet delivering the perfect beverages on cue 4 times a day and maybe only once a night. I won't last for very long in drinking fountain mode.

4 times a day - you are kidding, right?

Every four hours instead of every two. That´s what she should eventually settle in to. That´s what nearly all babies settle in to from 4-6 months.
I still count that as 6 times a day and she's not even close to being that old yet. If carrying her around is too tiring maybe you could set an alarm to make sure she's being fed every 2 hours. I don't remember you mentioning pumping, but if you did that someone else could do part of the feedings so that you can get some rest.

Sorry if I sounded a little harsh, but since she's been having problems putting on weight, you likely won't be able to cut back on her feedings until she starts eating cereal & baby food at 6 months.

Good luck! I can't wait to hear how much she has gained!! And for what it is worth, my 6 month old still nurses about 8 times a day, sleeps all night and gets only breastmilk. She's a big gal though at 20lbs! Can't wait for your update!

Wow. 4 times/day on cue? My little one missed that memo. She was probably a year old before she got even close to that.
Did Little S cut down that much as well? I know some do, but most exclusively breastfed babies can't go that long in between feedings. It's different for formula fed and supplemented of course. Just trying to prepare you if she's different from S - and like most breastfed babies. Every 2-3 hours is more like it. But don't worry, it's not that bad. You get used to it.
Do you have a sling? That made it so easy to nurse on the go and took the pressure off my arms.
